Scubapro recalls Monorail weight pockets over safety concerns

Scubapro has issued a recall notice for its Monorail weight pockets over concerns that the D-ring handle for the pockets could detach while using them.

The Monorail weight pocket design is compatible with the Hydros Pro 2 BCD, which comes packaged with the ‘Standard’ size of pocket. A ‘Mini’ version of the pocket is also available as a separate purchase.

The recall notice doesn’t explicitly refer to either size, but has been issued to cover all Monorail weight pockets purchased between November 2025 and February 2026.

‘Consistent with our safety-first philosophy, SCUBAPRO is working with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to conduct a voluntary recall of the Monorail Weight Pocket,’ reads the notice.

‘The D-ring handle for the Monorail Weight Pocket could detach during use. If this happens, the user might not be able to unlock the Monorail Weight Pocket in an emergency to rise to the surface, posing a potential drowning hazard.’

Divers are advised to stop using the pockets immediately and register for a free repair at scubapro.johnsonoutdoors.com/us/recalls, with repairs expected to begin in early May.

A copy of the complete recall notice can be viewed and downloaded from the Johnson Outdoors website.
