Scubapro has launched the second generation of it’s easy-to-use Luna dive computer, now available in two versions – the Luna 2.0 and Luna 2.0 AI with wireless air integration.
The new low-profile computer is designed to sit comfortably on the wrists of new and casual recreational divers, however, its oil-filled plastic housing is rated to a maximum depth of 120 meters.
The Luna 2.0’s large widescreen display features a high-contrast black and white matrix-segment LCD with full-sized characters for easy reading in all dive conditions. An intuitive menu and simple two-button interface aided by clearly marked screen prompts is designed to make the computer easy to use.
The Luna 2.0 has two algorithms on board – the Predictive Multi-Gas Bühlmann ZH-L16 ADT MB PMG or the ZH-L16 + GF PURE – and is compatible with 21-50% nitrox with three selectable gasses for open circuit diving.
Three dive modes are available – Scuba, Apnea and Gauge – to suit a range of diving activities.
More from Scubapro:
The Luna 2.0 AI (air integrated) offers the same easy-to-use features and functions as the standard Luna 2.0, with wireless air integration to monitor tank pressure, display the diver’s true remaining bottom time (RBT), and factor the diver’s air consumption rate to be factored into the decompression calculation.
Also available with the Luna 2.0 AI is an optional integrated heart rate monitor that which will visually track heart rate and skin temperature to help divers stay in their ‘personal target zone’.
Both Luna 2.0 models include personalised dive management functions such as PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops), which calculates the need for intermediate stops based on nitrogen loading, current and previous dives, breathing mixes and microbubble levels, providing options to adjust the computer’s conservatism.
The computer has a soft silicone arm strap for a comfortable wrist-mount, and has bungee mounts on the corners of the housing for alternate attachment methods.
A Bluetooth Low Energy interface enables the download of the dive data to any iOS or Android device or PC/Mac (firmware can be user-updated), and the user-changeable CR2450 battery is rated for up to two years or 300 dives.
