Scubapro has launched the new Seawing Supernova fins for scuba divers, an innovative two-piece design with a separately moulded blade and foot pocket which can be disassembled for for travel.

Scubapro claims the new fin is a ‘step up’ from the Nova in terms of performance, construction, fit and versatility, with a blade shape that produces much more power, speed and manoeuvrability.

Optional full-foot pockets can be swapped onto the fin using the disassembly tool

Similarly to the Nova, the new fin uses Scubapro’s ‘Pivot Control Technology’ which, the manufacturer says, ‘ensures the blade keeps the optimal angle of attack for converting kicks into forward propulsion.’ The hinge system is designed to work with the blade’s flexible central panel, adjusting the angle of attack based on the strength of the kick – more comfort while finning gently, and more power at full strength. New winglets have been installed on the tips of the fins with the aim of increased control and improved manoeuvrability when using different kicking styles.

The Seawing Supernova fins are made from durable Monprene and are fitted with an adjustable heavy-duty bungee strap to accommodate different boot sizes, with extended pads on the underside for improved grip on wet surfaces. The fins come supplied with an open-heel foot pocket as standard; an optional full-foot pocket is also available separately if desired

RRP Scubapro Seawing Nova: £189
