The Reef-World Foundation has announced a new partnership with the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) to support sustainable marine tourism for adventure travel operators.
Reef-World, which oversees the international Green Fins initiative, will collaborate with ATTA to promote the Green Fins Code of Conduct – the only internationally recognised set of environmental standards for diving and snorkelling – to its members.
In return, operators will receive a 10 per cent discount on the Green Fins Dive Guide e-Course for dive professionals and the Green Fins Diver e-Course for recreational divers, self-paced courses that provide information and practical tools to help divers minimise their environmental impact.
‘We are incredibly excited to partner with ATTA,’ said JJ Harvey, Operations Director of The Reef-World Foundation. ‘This collaboration is a powerful step forward, uniting our shared passion for conservation with ATTA’s expansive global network.
‘It allows us to reach a broader community of adventure travel companies who are already committed to sustainability. By making our internationally recognised Green Fins standards and training more accessible to ATTA members, we hope to empower them with the knowledge and actionable solutions needed to protect the world’s coral reefs.’
‘The ATTA community shares a deep commitment to sustainability across all facets of adventure travel,’ said Shannon Stowell, CEO of ATTA.
‘This collaboration with Reef-World provides our members with globally recognised tools, training, and real-world solutions to take measurable action in protecting one of the planet’s most precious ecosystems.’
