Win a fantastic and sustainable PADI rash vest made from recycled ocean plastic!
Plastic Free July is a global movement that gets millions of people involved in helping to tackle the problem of plastic pollution. One way of dealing with the ever-growing amount of plastic that finds its way into the ocean is to make its removal a worthwhile enterprise, which can in turn be used to fund donations to further support ocean conservation.
PADI has long been a champion of ocean clean-ups, and is committed to reducing the use of single-use plastics, and has a range of products available from its web store made from recycled ocean plastic, or non-plastic based alternatives, for the sustainability-minded travelling diver.
The range of products has so far helped remove 58,576lbs (26.6 tonnes) of plastic from the oceans, resulting in more than $32,000 USD has being donated to the PADI AWARE Foundationâ„¢ through sustainable PADI Gear sales.
With the month of July having a focus on both reducing the amount of plastic used and awareness on the importance of protecting sharks—such as Discovery Channel’s annual Shark Week starting 24 July this year — PADI has put together a plastic free July product guide for ocean lovers to help protect our blue planet.
Take a look at some of what’s on offer – and check out the competition at the end to win a very cool, free rashguard made from recycled ocean plastic!
