Hello, I’m Qj Kang from Malaysia. On a day-to-day basis, I work in the financial market, but my passion lies in the ocean and my hobby of underwater photography. I started scuba diving in 2010, after meeting a friend who inspired me to give it a go. Not long after in 2011, I purchased my first mirrorless camera, an Olympus EPL-5, to shoot underwater with. When I started scuba diving and underwater photography I had no idea where would take me, 12 years later I love it more than ever and have won multiple underwater photography awards in both macro and wide-angle categories.

I now have upgraded my gear and shoot on a Nikon D750 with Seacam housing. The biggest motivation for me to continue doing what I am doing is winning awards for my work and showing people the wonders of the ocean. If I were to choose only one diving destination to dive for the rest of my life, it would be ‘Earth’s Last Paradise’, Raja Ampat, a collection of Indonesia islands off the coast of Papua. I have fond memories of my best friend becoming my life partner at that beautiful place and also the amazing diving.
