Dive BVI is celebrating its 50th anniversary as the premier dive centre of the British Virgin Islands – here’s why you should think about joining them!
Located in the heart of the British Virgin Islands, Dive BVI has been a cornerstone of Virgin Gorda’s thriving marine tourism for more than 50 years.
Founded in 1975, the family-owned and run business has grown from a small dive operation into one of the BVI’s premier scuba diving and watersports centres. Its legacy of exploration, conservation and exceptional service has made Dive BVI a beloved institution for both seasoned divers and newcomers.
From its humble beginnings, Dive BVI has focused on offering top-tier dive excursions that showcase the rich marine biodiversity of the British Virgin Islands.
Over the years, the company has expanded its range of experience to include snorkel adventures, exciting day trips, eco tours and custom boat charters, with an emphasis on sustainable and responsible practices to protect the area’s fragile ecosystems.

One of the defining moments in Dive BVI’s journey was its certification as a PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) training centre in 1980, demonstrating its commitment to diver education by offering courses for all levels of diver, from beginners to instructors.
In 2011, Dive BVI became the first SSI (Scuba Schools International) Instructor Training Centre in the northern Caribbean, and has also hosted CCR instructor clinics, freediving instructor programmes and even Mermaiding courses.
Dive BVI has helped nurture a deep love for the ocean in countless visitors, many of whom return year after year to explore the islands’ stunning waters.
By presenting marine ecology programmes in local schools, Dive BVI has also helped spark the next generation of ocean enthusiasts on the islands.

Through the decades, Dive BVI has weathered numerous challenges, including hurricanes and global shifts in tourism, however, its resilience and unwavering dedication to excellence have allowed it to thrive.
The company’s team of expert dive guides and instructors is known for their passion for the underwater world, providing guests with unforgettable experiences while at the same time ensuring a high level of safety and environmental stewardship.
Our team’s knowledge of BVI dive sites, the islands and their history is matched only by its passion for educating and entertaining our valued guests.
Dive BVI’s 50th anniversary celebrations are a testament to the beauty of the British Virgin Islands’ marine life and the lasting impact of responsible tourism.

Looking ahead, the company remains committed to its mission: offering guests world-class experiences and fostering an appreciation for the natural wonders of the British Virgin Islands, while at the same time creating a deep and lasting local generational legacy.
