The king of the content creators, GoPro, has announced the launch of its new HERO12 Black camera, which it says will be ‘raising the bar yet again’ for the action camera market.
GoPro’s newest flagship camera builds on the highly-rated performance of its predecessor, with a claimed runtime of twice that of the HERO11 thanks to a redesigned power management system. The new camera retains its market leading 5.3K and 4K resolution video, with an upgrade to its HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilisation and added support for Bluetooth audio devices, including Apple AirPods.
One of the Hero12 Black’s new features is a new Max Lens Mod 2.0 accessory, which enables the market’s widest 177° field of view at 4K resolution at 60fps, with three field-of-view settings – Max Wide, Max SuperView and the new Max HyperView – to take full advantage of the Hero12 Black’s extra-large 8:7 sensor.
The new lens mod enables perspectives that are 36 per cent wider when capturing widescreen video and 48 per cent taller when capturing vertical video, compared to the Hero12 Black’s standard lens.
