Aggressor Adventures has announced two new itineraries aboard the Philippines Aggressor, offering divers expanded opportunities to explore some of the country’s most celebrated wrecks, reefs and biodiversity hotspots.

The new routes will take in Coron, Apo Reef, Batangas and Anilao, combining historic wreck sites with high-biodiversity reef systems. All diving on both itineraries will be conducted from tenders to allow greater flexibility and access to a wide range of sites.

‘These new itineraries represent the best of what the Philippines has to offer divers,’ said Wayne Brown, CEO of Aggressor Adventures.

‘From iconic WWII wrecks in Coron to the extraordinary biodiversity of Apo Reef, Verde Island, and Anilao, we’re giving guests the opportunity to experience an incredible range of diving on a single voyage.

‘It’s a natural evolution of our Philippines program and one we’re very excited to introduce.’

Seven-night Coron itinerary

For wreck diving enthusiasts, Coron represents the pinnacle of diving in the Philippines. This itinerary focuses on historically significant Second World War shipwrecks sunk during US bombing raids on the Japanese fleet in 1944.

Now reclaimed by the sea, these massive steel vessels are draped in corals and teeming with marine life. Divers can explore cargo holds, engine rooms, and passageways, experiencing one of the world’s most fascinating underwater museums.

The itinerary also includes diving at Apo Reef Natural Park, the largest coral reef system in the Philippines and the second-largest contiguous coral reef system in the world, after Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

Located off Occidental Mindoro, Apo Reef is a protected biodiversity hotspot featuring expansive reefs, deep channels, and exceptional coral and marine life. The area is widely regarded as a premier dive destination and a potential UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ten-night Coron to Batangas itinerary

The extended ten-night itinerary links Coron with Batangas, combining wreck, reef and current-swept dive sites into a single voyage. In Coron, guests will dive the same Second World War wrecks, while multiple dives are also planned at Apo Reef Natural Park.

Diving around Verde Island in Batangas offers strong currents, dense fish schools and pelagic encounters. Verde Island lies within the Verde Island Passage and is often described as the ‘Centre of the centre of Marine Biodiversity’.

The itinerary also includes Anilao, regarded as the birthplace of Philippine diving and a long-established destination for macro photography and reef diving.

Select itineraries may include dives near Malajon and Dimipac Islands, where dugongs are occasionally encountered.
