The Reef-World Foundation makes a splash with a monumental £335,000 win in Ocean Outdoor’s Drops In The Ocean environmental fund

The UK-based marine conservation charity, The Reef-World Foundation, has announced that it has secured £335,000 worth of advertising space on Ocean Outdoor’s OOH (out-of-home) digital screens across the UK.

The award has been granted as part of Outdoor’s annual Drops In The Ocean environmental fund, through which the company donates 2 per cent of its annual revenue in the form of advertising space to marine sustainability initiatives. Other UK beneficiaries include the Blue Marine Foundation and Marine Conservation Society.

Originally launched as Oceans for Oceans in 2018 to combat single-use plastic pollution, the Drops In The Ocean environmental fund has since grown to support causes associated with sustainability initiatives across the globe. Ocean Group’s network of digital advertising spaces is currently located in 834 cities around the world, including 16 in the UK.

The Reef-World Foundation, founded in 1999 to promote the implementation of ‘practical solutions for marine conservation’, has become something of a global phenomenon in the scuba diving industry with its popular Green Fins programme. Recently adopted by PADI, Green Fins educates divers, professionals and marine tourism operators in the best practices for environmental sustainability. It is hoped that the Drops in the Ocean award will help to extend Reef-World’s reach in marine conservation.

‘Winning Drops in the Ocean signifies more than just an advertising opportunity for us at Reef-World, said Chloe Harvey, Executive Director of The Reef-World Foundation. ”As a small but growing UK charity dedicated to marine conservation, it is a profound endorsement of our commitment to saving the reefs and safeguarding our oceans for future generations.’

‘This recognition will not only elevate our voice but also strengthen our drive to push for positive change,’ Harvey added.
