PADI has announced a new diver acquisition campaign encouraging scuba divers to recruit their friends and family, with incentives such as course discounts for those referred and PADI club membership trials for the diver sending the referral.
The agency’s Seek Adventure; Save the Ocean Together referral programme enables all PADI-certified divers to log into their PADI accounts and send friends and family a 15 per cent discount off the price of a PADI Open Water eLearning course.
If the invitation is accepted, the referring diver will receive a 30-day trial membership to the PADI Club, which grants them access to discounts on PADI’s eLearning Programmes and certification cards, a free ReActivate Programme (a tailored version of a refresher course), and a subscription to the digital edition of PADI’s Scuba Diving magazine.
The referral programme is part of a large marketing campaign by PADI, which has produced a marketing toolkit and four mini-campaigns for its professional members to use in promoting the initiative.
Dive operators and instructors are also being encouraged to use the new campaign to feed into the agency’s Master Scuba Diver Challenge, which encourages divers to engage in continuing education programmes to reach PADI’s highest ranking for recreational divers.
‘PADI’s Seek Adventure. Save the Ocean Together referral Programme is the latest example of PADI’s investment in creating more business for our members and the diving industry as a whole,’ said Kristin Valette Wirth, Chief Brand and Membership Officer for PADI Worldwide.
‘By referring a friend, it is a two-for-one deal on staying connected, giving and getting exclusive discounts, and saving the ocean together,’ added Valette Wirth.
‘PADI is investing big in this campaign and we’re encouraging our community of divers, dive professionals and dive centres and resorts to do the same.’
