Our Planet II, a four-part series narrated by David Attenborough documenting the migration of animals across the planet is coming to Netflix on Wednesday, 14 June.
Created by the Emmy Award-winning team behind Planet Earth and Our Planet – for which Netflix claims more than 570 million viewing hours – Our Planet II will showcase the ‘mind-blowing ways’ that animals navigate the planet.
Highlights from the series include an abandoned Laysan albatross chick determining the best way to leave his island of origin, and the story of how billions of minuscule red crabs find their way from beaches to the forest, without getting eaten in the process.

The series features footage from migrations taking place all over the planet, spanning locations such as Africa, India, China, the Arctic and beyond. Details of individual episodes have yet to be released, but footage in the trailer of sharks and whales cruising through the water suggests that ocean migration will feature significantly.
Our Planet II is the second instalment of six docu-series that Netflix is planning to release over the next three years. The first, Our Universe, was released in September 2022, and Life On Our Planet, narrated by Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman is expected later in 2023.
Our Oceans and Our Living World are expected in 2024, and the final instalment, Our Water World – exploring the freshwater systems that help the planet thrive – is due in 2025.
Our Planet II premieres on 14 June on Netflix. Check out the teaser trailer below.
