Fishial.ai – an open-source project to create an app that will use artificial intelligence to instantly recognise any species of fish, is inviting divers to participate in a new quarterly contest to expand its image database. Prizes for the free-to-enter contest will be awarded to the individuals or teams that submit the greatest number and most accurate fish pics
The Fishial Challenge is open to anybody – divers and dive schools, snorkellers, professional and amateur photographers alike. In order to enter, sign up to the Fishial.ai portal and follow the instructions to submit pictures. There is no limit to how many pictures are submitted, nor when they are taken, but they must:
- be digital pictures with a minimum resolution of 500×500 pixels
- show at least one whole fish
- be the work of the entrant or submitted with the permission of the original photographer.
The prize recipients will be automatically calculated at the end of each quarter’s/year’s contest by the Fishial.ai system itself, and will include Ocean First Education short courses, Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation giveaways and Amazon gift cards provided by Wye Foundation.
