Emperor Divers has announced the launch of a new Maldives liveaboard, Emperor Explorer II, scheduled to begin operations in August 2026.
The 44m vessel will become the largest boat in the operator’s Maldives fleet and will replace the current Emperor Explorer, which is due to retire from service at the end of May.
According to Emperor Divers, the new liveaboard has been designed around increased guest space and onboard comfort, with accommodation spread across four decks and large windows throughout the vessel.
Cabin options will include upper and main deck suites as well as lower deck cabins, all with air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms.
The boat will primarily operate the company’s ‘Best of Maldives’ itineraries, covering the Malé, Ari and Vaavu atolls, regions known for encounters with sharks, manta rays and other pelagic marine life.
Facilities onboard will include an indoor lounge, shaded outdoor seating areas and an upper sun deck.
Diving operations will be conducted from a separate 24m dhoni supported by up to four dive guides.
Emperor Divers said Nitrox, port fees, marine park fees and fuel surcharges would be included in the trip price as part of its ‘No Hidden Extras’ policy.
