Jordan’s Aqaba Blue: Ocean Future in Action (ABOFA), the country’s first international scuba diving and marine innovation exhibition, has been postponed until March 2027.
The four-day event at the Aqaba International Exhibition Centre (AIEC), bringing together the diving, watersports, boating, marine technology, tourism, conservation and blue economy sectors, will now be held between 16-19 March 2027, instead of its planned September date this year.
Exhibitors and organisations from more than 25 countries have already committed to taking part, including PADI, which joined as a Presenting partner in June.
Other organisations familiar to Red Sea divers that will be exhibiting include SeaKeepers, Reef Check Foundation, HEPCA, Aqaba Marine Reserve and the Egyptian Chamber of Diving and Water Sports (CDWS).
More than 80 per cent of all exhibition space had already been allocated prior to the delay.
No reason for the postponement has been given, however, a spokesperson for ABOFA said that ‘all existing agreements and commitments remain valid and will be carried forward to the new dates.’
