Poland’s Mateusz Malina set a new World Record in the Dynamic No Fins (DNF) discipline at the CMAS World Cup Indoor Series held in Poland. Malina set the record with a distance of 238.05m, reclaiming the record held by French freediver, Guillaume Bourdila, since 2019.
Malina is a multiple World Record holder in pool and depth, for both CMAS and AIDA. He currently holds all three of the AIDA world records for dynamic apnoea with fins (DYN), bifins (DYNB), and without fins (DNF) – his AIDA record of 250m is the out-and-out world record for the discipline.
‘DNF is my favourite pool discipline and I’m extremely happy to reclaim World Record in 50m pool after 5 years of hard training, numerous tries, failures and to be able to finally overcome it,’ said Malina following his record-breaking swim. ‘I’m looking forward for the World Championships in Belgrade this year and to hopefully to represent Poland at the World Games next year’.
The recent CMAS World Cup Indoor Series is the first time the event has been held in Poland, and is a qualifying event for the World Games to be held in Chengdu, China, in 2025.
