Four-day tech summit at world’s deepest dive pool will bring together industry experts and innovators for exclusive workshops and presentations
Technical diving is set to take centre stage at the Deep Dive Dubai Tech Summit 2024, held from 17-20 October to connect divers, educators, and innovators in one of the Middle East’s most specialised diving events.
Tech diving has seen a huge growth in global interest over the last decade, driven by advancements in equipment and technology and the adoption of technical training programmes by recreational agencies.
The global dive tourism market was valued at $3.9 billion in 2022 and market research suggests it may reach as much as $16.9 billion by 2032. As interest continues to grow, particularly in advanced technical diving, the Deep Dive Dubai Tech Summit hosts say they hope to ‘play a key role in shaping the future of the field’.
The summit offers visitors the chance to meet two leading underwater explorers, Jarrod Jablonski and Richard Lundgren. Jablonksi, founder of Global Underwater Explorers and Director of Deep Dive Dubai, has more than 30 years of experience in the field and has led record-breaking expeditions through some of the world’s most remote and inaccessible caves.
Lundgren, co-founder of GUE and CEO of Ocean Discovery, is a diving veteran of more than 20 years, has participated in the discovery of more than 120 shipwrecks – including HMHS Britannic (sister ship of the RMS Titanic) – and holds the North European cave penetration record.
