Camel Dive launches Red Sea storytelling contest for underwater creators

Sharm El Sheikh’s famous Camel Dive Club has launched a new creative competition inviting divers, photographers and filmmakers to submit stories from beneath the surface of the Red Sea.

The contest, Underwater Stories from the Red Sea, aims to showcase images and short films that capture the atmosphere, character and emotional pull of one of the world’s most iconic marine environments.

Open to all experience levels, the competition accepts up to three photographs or a single 90-second video shot anywhere in the Red Sea, not only in Sharm El Sheikh. Judges will be looking for strong storytelling and originality rather than isolated snapshots, with an emphasis on connection and sense of place.

Two winners — one for photography and one for video — will receive a diving holiday for two at Camel Dive Club during its 40th Anniversary Week from 5–12 December 2026. The prize includes a week’s accommodation at the boutique hotel and five days of diving on a private boat alongside members of the judging panel. Flights are not included.

The judging panel features a roster of internationally recognised underwater photographers and storytellers:

Alex Mustard (UK), Alexander Kassler (DE), Pietro Formis (IT), Frederico Serra (PT) and Vasco Pinhol (PT). Entries will be assessed on how effectively they communicate the spirit of the Red Sea and the originality of the narrative behind the imagery.

The deadline for submissions is 1 February 2026, with winners announced on 2 April 2026. Entries can be uploaded via the official landing page or Google Form.

(Note that by entering, participants agree that their work may be used for Camel Dive’s marketing and communication, with credit given where possible.)
