Scubapro has launched its new Hydros X BCD, a jacket-style version of the Hydros Pro using the body-hugging and extremely adjustable harness that made the wing or hybrid version so popular.
With the Hydros X it has matched the patented injection-molded gel harness of the Pro with a more traditional style wrap-around air cell with a pair of roomy, zippered cargo pockets.
You get all the advantages of the jacket moulding to your own particular physique with the radical gel shoulder straps and backplate plus pockets and integrated weights.
Again like the Pro, the Scubapro Hydros X has a modular design and several of its components are detachable and can be individually replaced.
The Scubapro Hydros X uses Scubapro’s Super Cinch tank buckle, has two rear trim pockets, comes with two stainless steel D-rings and has nine different colour options (army green, black, white, blue, turquoise, orange, yellow, pink, and purple.
But it’s not cheap with an RRP of £699. ScubaPro argues this is mitigated by it being a jacket for life with the modular design allowing you to change and/or replace key features if they wear out or your style of diving changes.
