New Fourth Element RF2 freediving wetsuit

By

Fourth Element’s roll-out of new gear for 2022 continues with the introduction of its new RF2 high-performance freediving wetsuit. The streamlined two-piece 6/5/4/mm suit has been developed for cool and cold-water freedivers to explore their limits while remaining comfortable and warm.

The suit is designed with increased durability over traditional smoothskin suits in mind, while maintaining the same level of form-fitting comfort and stretch. Lined outer panels around the core, arms and legs provide the RF2 with its additional strength, and the smooth cell ‘Metalite’ coating of the suit’s inner is both more robust and provides better warmth retention than traditional open cell linings. A bespoke ‘Glideskin’ across the shoulders and hood maximises hydrodynamic performance.

‘We’ve designed this suit with the consultation of professional freedivers, instructors and with the knowledge of freedive suit specialists,’ said Paul Strike, Director of Fourth Element. ‘The RF2 brings together Fourth Element’s knowledge of thermal protection with freediving expertise at the top of the sport to create a high-performance recreational suit.’

‘The RF2 is possibly the best off-the-peg suit I’ve ever tried,’ said freediving cameraman Daan Verhoeven. ‘As soon as I got in the water, I instantly forgot the suit. I was just comfortable and could move without anything pinching or water coming in.’

RF2 freediving wetsuit features:
  • Streamline cut optimising glide
  • 5mm comfort, flexibility and warmth
  • Open-cell interior, lined exterior
  • Smoothskin outer hood and shoulders for extra hydrodynamics
  • Beavertail closure
  • Supratex seat panel for extra durability

The RF2 hooded jacket and leggings are available in sizes S – XL.
